Our project team hit a few out of the park with the completion of six new stores for Stellar Partners at San Diego International Airport, making a significant contribution to the Airport’s largest improvement program in its history. Stellar News, our client’s personal brand of news stands was re-branded and launched at this Airport in two locations. The smaller of the two stores, shown here, is located at the ticketing area of Terminal 1. The Stellar brand was re-imagined by the design architect, Architectural Alliance by adding planetary design references while at the same time bringing it down to earth with elements specific to San Diego. Our team moved the design into construction documents and developed the interior sign band to reinforce Architectural Alliance’s re-brand. The need for this store as well as five other Stellar stores to be operational in time for the grand opening drove a very tight schedule. Our team worked closely with the client and jurisdictional staff to obtain approvals, as well as with the contractor to complete construction of the Stellar projects on time.
