Energizing Our Future

To the future and beyond

“Energizing Our Future” is a project to promote environmental sustainability in the diverse San Diego community of Encanto. Funded by the California Energy Commission’s EPIC grant, this Net Zero Energy project is aimed at catalyzing economic opportunities through energy efficiency. The branding for this project tested three design concepts, each focusing on one of the words in the “energizing our future” project name. The final design chose to promote the “our” in the project name, focusing on its collective, community-based ethic and goals.

CityWorks prepared the messaging, branding and communications plan for this project. Throughout each step, it coordinated input from a stakeholder advisory committee and worked with the GroundWork team and partners to make decisions along the way. The firm developed:

• Branding and Design Guidelines for implementing the brand in digital, print and promotional items
• Design of branded mailers, door hangers, brochures, social media graphics, and other items such as T-shirts and banners
• Communications plan for outreach to be led by GroundWork
• Advertising artwork
